While editing the Round Table Discussion devoted to Dan Curtis' DARK
SHADOWS teleserial for VIDEO WATCHDOG 169, I had to take the pruning shears
to a slight detour we made through the series' first feature film spin-off,
HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS. But the reminiscences that were prompted were
simply too entertaining to lose, so we're presenting them here on our
website as a VW Exclusive.
Only four members of our larger RTD board
participated, and they are: Darren Gross, an authority on Dan Curtis
and his productions whose work appears in THE DARK SHADOWS MOVIE BOOK and
Kathryn Leigh Scott's RETURN TO COLLINWOOD, and who now directs audio dramas
featuring DARK SHADOWS alumni for Big Finish Productions; Chris Herzog,
an Evansville IL-based educator who is making his VW debut; Richard
Harland Smith, a longtime VW contributor now making waves as a Turner
Classic Movies "Movie Morlocks" blogger; and Robert Tinnell, a
multi-threat creator whose credits include film producer (SURF NAZIS MUST
DIE), film director (numerous credits including FRANKENSTEIN AND ME),
and award-winning comics writer (most recently the Monsterverse publication
FLESH AND BLOOD, illustrated by Neil D. Vokes, now in its second volume).
